We are currently open for dining in and takeaways, 10am to late, 7 days.
In compliance with government regulations our staff are wearing face coverings in addition to surfaces and hands being sanitised regularly. We ask customers to help prevent the spread of the virus by signing in on arrival, keeping a safe distance from other customers, and remaining seated for the duration of your visit unless using the restroom or paying.
We have a maximum capacity of 50 customers under alert level 2, so we recommend making reservations for peak times to avoid disappointment!
Takeichi is a Japanese Chicken Ramen franchise wih it's root in Tokyo and branches stretching across Japan, Asia, and as far as Europe. Our Dunedin restarant opened in October 2020 and is the first in Australasia. It is owned and operated by Yuya and Gillian Sugiyama who wanted to bring an authentic Japanese dining experience back to Gillian's hometown of Duedin.
Our signature chicken ramen soups are made using the same recipes and cooking techniques as they do in Takeichi stores in Tokyo and around the world. Our Japanese head chef has also created a range of side and rice dishes to suit every palate using high-quality local and Japanese products.
Our newly renovated building is fitted out to give a modern Japanese feel. The dining area is spacious and inviting, and features an origami station and games/books to keep children and the young-at-heart busy. We also have a more private lounge area which can be reserved for dining and functions. There is an NZCT Gaming Lounge (R18) on site.
